Fresque du Petit-Champlain

by Murale Création. Using the magic of both trompe-l'oeil and wall painting techniques, this mural illustrates early-day, Cap-Blanc beginnings as a harbour front and working class community. In addition to the people who lived, worked, did business, and contributed to the community's development and progress, major historical events are also illustrated here, including catastrophes such as bombardments, fires, and landslides. Further on, facing the Coast Guard heliport, a plaque bears witness to an attack by General Montgomery, on December 31, 1775. Walking back via boulevard Champlain helps one imagine the land layout at the beginning of the 18th century, when water levels reached up to the buildings at high tide. Walk on to rue du Marché-Champlain, where la maison Chevalier comes to view, on your left.
