Come discover one of Charlevoix’s treasures—Parc national des Grands-Jardins, recognized by UNESCO as the core of the World Biosphere Reserve and one of Charlevoix's genuine jewels. The special flora and fauna found at this altitude make this site one of the most unique of its kind. Who would ever have thought it possible to walk through taiga less than an hour’s drive from Québec City? That’s one of the special features of Les Grands-Jardins—visitors are amazed by the multitude of ecosystems representative of Northern Québec that can be found from one end of the park to the other. Numerous discovery activities are led by park wardens in summer—join them to learn the benefits of forest fires on vegetation regeneration, find out more about the black bear and caribou, or fall under the charm of the extraordinary world of lichens. Each season brings a wealth of new outdoor activities to enjoy, from hiking, biking, canoeing, and kayaking to skiing and snowshoeing. Parc national des Grands-Jardins also enjoys an envious reputation for trout fishing. A favorite destination of anglers for over a century, it features only native fish, to the great delight of connoisseurs. A number of cabins, huts and campsites are for rent, allowing visitors to spend one or more nights in the forest. Source : www.tourisme-charlevoix.com/en/

The Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie constitues one of Québec's most lovely territories. The river meanders between the highest rocky faces east of the Canadian Rockies, and visitors are seduced by the spectacular scenery there to be discovered. Whether by bateau-mouche, canoe, kayak, rabaska, bicycle or on foot, the park unfurls a long list of activities to suit every type of clientele, from the very fittest to the most contemplative. the famous trail called Sentier de l'Acropole des Draveurs leads to the summit of the park's tallest peak (1 048 metres), and reveals rare arctic alpine vegetation and an exceptionnal 360_° landscape for all to admire. Involving a more moderate physical effort, a new trail called Sentier du Riverain gives hikers the opportunity to discover just as impressive view. The discovery cruise aboard the bateau-mouche, whichlasts about 1,5 hours, is another of the park's leading attractions. For the curious, a team of passionate park rangers invites visitors to take part in discovery activities explaining the park's fauna, flora, geology and history. Completing the experience, the following services are also offered: campsites (unserviced or rustic), equipment rentals, food service and a convenience store. This visit is an absolute must!
